magic express luggage only

I am interested in what you may think about using the magic express for luggage only. We love having our own car and got a great rate from alamo for nov.2005 of $128.00 ($164 w.tax etc) for eight days.
We would however enjoy saying goodbye to our bags in Philly and say hello to them again in our room.
Do you think Disney would allow this?
Do you think they could prevent tourist from just not taking the shuttle?
Very interested in your thoughts.

I think that part of the reason for Magical Express was to PREVENT guests from having a car. Having a car = transportation off property.

It NEVER hurts to ask, but unless you're going to grab the shuttle yourself, I don't think they'll shuttle your bags without shuttling you.

On the one hand, I don't see how they could stop you. On the other hand, I bet they could!

They would almost have to have a policy to keep guests and bags from being permanently separated. That means if they take your bags but they don't take you they have to wonder if you were actually ON the plane or if you missed it somehow after you checked your bags. Maybe they just take all the tagged bags and hold them, but that's not what they're supposed to do! They are supposed to put them in your room, which theoretically means you would have to be at the hotel and check in so you would HAVE a room. Right? You would probably beat the bags to the resort in your own car, so that wouldn't be the issue. I just wonder what policy they have in the event the bags show up without the guest.
