Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

:sad1:One month ago I was in the terminal at Port Canaveral. Waaaaaa...
We met The Gales & the Rump family, Joey met up with his secret santa Billy & we were grinning ear to ear... Good memories!

Hello! Have laptop back after a stint in the Geek Squad hospital. Another fan of Zan here, I would request him next go around. Renee -- did you change rooms? The room # I had for cruisin' lattas had no FE anywhere near it. I was not sure you were on the ship :confused3:sad1: Lola is rockin' that coat.

Caryn

If you did FE's on the last couple nights, Alan had already packed up the door..lol He was eager to be ready and not have the last min. rush we normally have. I missed the decorations and it was much harder to find my room...:rotfl:

I certainly miss this group! I have joined another DISboard group for my next cruise (Dream in Sept) but there are only about 10 of us so far, so not the same dialogue as on this board.

I joined the only Celebrity group I could find, on Cruise Critic, for our American Girl cruise and wow, just NOT the same. DEFINITELY a different demographic. I started a Facebook group (thanks David!) for the cruise hoping to get girls together beforehand like we did here but even that is pretty blah. Hopefully it will pick up before November.

This was definitely a one of a kind group.:grouphug:
I've got two DISers so far with a visit to Mississippi planned, who else wants to come meet Lola?!

I miss everyone too! Been wanting to pop by but been busy with other stuff... I sure miss the southern/eastern Caribbean weather!!!!! Been listening to Radio Margaritaville to feel sunny. :cool2:

Scariest/Most Memorable Moment - The three older kids offered to have our 2 year old over for a sleepover so my DW and I could go out. Went to show, walked around, picked up our DS (7) from the club and headed back to the room. Around midnight, we get a call from Flounder's Nursery saying that a cast member had found our son on Deck 8 (we were on Deck 6). Apparently the three older kids fell asleep and Carter woke up. He decided he wanted mommy so he unlatched the dead bolt, opened the door and left without waking anyone. We were 12 cabins down and he got lost. After our hearts started beating again, we were very impressed with how quickly they got him back to us. We now call him the "Night Crawler".

OMG! My heart just stopped beating just by reading this. Gosh...Im glad he was found with no issue. Im sure your three older children felt terrible.

We had a similar "heart attack" moment a couple of days into the trip. Hubby was sleeping on the couch because he kept waking the stateroom behind us with his snoring :) and our DD, 4 was sleeping with me. I woke up and my daughter was not in the bed. I didn't hear her in the bathroom so I checked the couch to see if she was with her father, then the bathroom and the side of the bed. She was nowhere to be found. I can only describe what I did next as a complete freak-out. I woke up my DH and we searched everywhere. He had more presence of mind and checked the cabin room door which was still locked. After a frantic search, my DH found our daughter asleep in the bath tub. Apparently she woke up to get a drink of water, found her cup empty and went into the bathroom to fill it. It looked like she couldn’t get the cup out of the sink (thank goodness she didn't drink that water) and was too tired to go back to bed. It took a bit for our hearts to stop racing and we still get weak thinking about what if.

I really have not forgotten those who asked for bookmarks. I actually am starting on the next to last one:woohoo:. I enjoy making them so if anyone else wants one, please PM me.

Lois

P.S. I miss all the comraderie!

Just wanted to thank everyone one more time for making my families pirate::santa: the best ever...

We hope to see everyone this Christmas on the 6 day :santa:pirate:

The STL area is still digging out of the snow..:sad2: We are heading to WDW next weekend to warm up a little.

Im deleting the book mark off of the toolbar. :surfweb:

It truly was a Magical :santa:pirate:

Thx The 4 Frids..

Well, the trip is finally over.

We had paid the balance using the Disney Visa six months same as cash promotion. And the final payment is now due.

Still remembering the good times.

Us too!!!

Really miss you guys! The Dis just isn't the same! I keep checking my subscriptions to see if anyone has posted - but it's so quiet!!! (Our Alaska cruise board is pretty blah right now. :sad1:)

Thanks for a great cruise and wonderful memories everyone!!!!

Sorry, I'm really late with this, and I'm not sure how many will see this. But I wanted to post some photos from our trip - especially ones with all our new friends (that's you all).

I'm going to start with Embarkation and the Sail Away party. See if you can find yourself in these....

I'm so used to Facebook I was trying to tag myself and my friends! I'm such a goofy goober.
So, off to try and figure out how to save these on this Mac...

ETA: Done and tagged on Facebook for my facebook friends! Thanks, Aaron.
MORE, MORE!
Send some more!!
It's a blah day in Mississippi and these make me smile :)

Guys--this was a once in a lifetime bunch, wasn't it?
BBQMommy is coming to see me next month, talk to MDargen daily on Facebook, plans for momssurprise to visit in April, talked to StJohnFam on phone this week and 3princessmommy will be visiting them in Washington pre-Alaska cruise. Seriously, how great is it to have made friends like this on vacation?

St. Maarten

Joann and I took Grace on the See & Sea Island Tour. She's a little young for snorkling, but loves fish. So we thought the semi-submarine would be a great way for her to see the fish in their homes. She loved it.

I'll try to post a bunch tonight. We certainly had more fun with folks on this cruise than any in the past. I'm afraid our next cruise is going to be a disappointment of sorts. Let's hope not.

Guadeloupe

This was Alex's day with Mom and Dad, and we were excited to find out that a large group of our DIS friends were joinging us on the Creole Fiesta Day at Caret. Alex loves the beach, so we figured this would be paradise. We were so right.

Barbados

This was supposed to be Caitlin's first snorkling trip. She was really excited about the 5-Star Catamaran and Turtle Encounter. But we woke up that morning with a phone message letting us know that all snorkling tours had been canceled due to large swells. Bummer. At least I was able to rebook us for a snorkling trip a few days later in St. Thomas. On this day, though, I was able to stow away with my in-laws and other daughters to experience the Harrison's Cave tour. The facilities were impressive.

It was hard to get decent photos down in the dark caves, but there were some impressive formations.

I was excited to get my first night shot of the Magic on this trip. We've always had to board the ship before night-fall (or in the case of the Baltic cruise - the sun never fully set) in previous cruises.

Martinique

From the start we weren't too impressed by the excursion choices in Martinique. So Joann, Lois (DMIL) and I left the kids in the Club/Lab and headed ashore to explore the town. It was pretty easy to walk around the streets and see a little bit. Not really exciting, but here are some of the sights.

Christmas Day!

We honestly felt like we missed our traditional Christmas while on this cruise, and probably won't choose to do another holiday season with Disney. But the trip was definitely a blast, anyway. Here are some shots from Chirstmas day.

St. Thomas

As I mentioned, this became Caitlin's day with Mom and Dad, since our Guadeloupe snorkle tour had been cancelled. After quite a bit of trepidation (Caitlin doesn't like to swim with fish fearing they might eat her) she did get into the water for a bit and enjoyed herself. Certainly, it helped to have good friends there to share it with.

I also got to really try out our brand new underwater camera. It worked great.

This guy was guarding the underside of the boat as we were re-boarding at the end of the day. Pretty cool, but slightly intimidating to think a baracuda might be nipping at your toes as you climb up the ladder.
