Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

So not the best birthday a girl could ever have - got up at 4am to start working on VIP visit, no presents arrived due to extended mail delays from the U.S., and everyone at work forgot :sad1: - but the kids sure are having fun decorating the cake in the kitchen!!!! (I think I should be :scared1:, very :scared1::scared1:)

:bday: Happy Birthday Joann! party: I'm sure the cake will turn out great! Just think 73 more days until Disney Cruise!:cool1:

Here's another dumb question.....are the doors to the staterooms metal on both sides? Are we able to magnets on both sides of the door? And are the doors plain on the inside or is there emergency plans etc on the inside of the door?

I got my daughter a matching dress for her and her bitty baby!! So cute..appliqued' with the ship and her name. The shops name is stitches and bows. She sells on Etsy and Facebook. I got my daughters dress and the matching doll dress for $24.95. She makes matching Minnie mouse dresses too. Super nice lady. Tell her Eve sent you. (p.s. she's a huge Disney Cruise fan).

I found her shop on Etsy. So stinkin' cute -- but her sizing doesn't go up to a Size 10. You don't by chance have Eve's email do you? If so do you mind pm'ing it to me? I'll see if she can make something larger. Or I'll just get a dress for the doll. The kid gets the cruise, after all...:wizard:

Because we just booked I'm late even thinking about ports of call. Does the 2010 Passporter have info about the special ports we will be visiting? Or am I better off just spending time on Cruise Critic? It's been 5 years since we've cruised -- so perhaps there are even better sites out there I should know about?

I would also be interested to know of any good resources for port calls. Let me know what you find out! I have the 2008 Passporter guide book, but it doesn't cover, Martinique, Guadaloupe, or Barbados.
:santa:

I just realized you are Eve -- sorry I was readying too quickly in my excitement. I sent the Stitches and Bows gal a message on Etsy and let her know you referred me. We'll see if I can get something in a size 10.

3princess mommy. Hope the cake is delicious -- we know it was made with love!

Thank you!

Yes - the cake was extra yummy - rainbow sprinkles that spelled happy birthday (or sort of) and butterfly and flower candles. :goodvibes

Gotta start packing... Off to the U.S. tomorrow for a couple weeks. Cheesecake factory and Omaha Steaks - HERE I COME!!!!!:thumbsup2

Happy Birthday!!!!! and safe travels.

Don't stress the laundry room across the hall. Our first cruise was in 6590(Wonder)- across from a laundry. We loved it! Not very noisy really and I could scope when everyone was ironing or washing and could do mine at my leisure.:thumbsup2

I confess to not having completely read all our threads so I have a few questions,

Do we have a name for our group? If not, do we want one?

Are we going to do any group magnet door designs and/or tshirts? Do we already have this?

I am the least crafty/designy person I know -- so I'm definitely a follower here. Just asking b/c we did this on my last cruise...5 years ago.

Well, we're one step closer to getting everything done before we leave for FL on the 26th of this month....and I'm pooped. Here's what I've been doing while I've been away from the boards...

. 3 months ago we started a simple redecoration of our home office...paint, flooring, nothing major. That is until we found out we had a leak in the roof, which had caused water damage under the carpet, which lead to black mold in the drywall all the way around the room. After leak assessment, roof repair, mold remediation and drywall repair (and 6 weeks of delays), I was finally able to primer and paint the walls and ceiling. Unfortunately when Home Depot say 7 day drop ship of Special Order laminate flooring, that DOESN'T include the 10 days by tuck from NC to SoCal :confused3 The flooring arrived yesterday and is almost completely installed today. Who did the installation you ask???? Me, Myself and I.

The floor came out nice! You did a great job!

:hug:I understand your frustration with it.We had our dishwasher leak a couple of years ago onto the laminate wood floor...in Dec. The insurance company sent out a company to get the floor dried. It did not work. We ended up having to replace the whole kitchen & the family room flooring. Which meant no kitchen use until it was done! They didn't finish until early March. :headache:

My husband booked us last night!! I am so excited. This will be our 6th Disney Cruise. I am trying to read through the meet thread but it is taking a while. Let me introduce us-- my husband is Sandy, I am Carol and we have two daughters--Sarah who is 8 and Sydney who is 3 and a half. We live in Charleston South Carolina. The girls do not know that the cruise is a definite. The older one is dying to go but worried about Santa finding us at sea! So we'll see how we can work that out. It sure sounds like we will be sailing with a fun group!

Oh--a caution about the gel clings--I did that once on a Halloween cruise and they left behind imprints on the door. Housekeeping was not happy with me and I was afraid Mickey wouldn't let me sail again!!!

Thanks for all the helpful info and I'll keep reading to try and catch up!

Kitster your floor looks gorg and I'm amazed that you did it all! Wow.

Sarah, welcome!!! I just booked yesterday and DH and DD9 know nothing. Ssshh. Why I'm not saying my name...

11 nights sounds like bliss and this group is great!

Just got back from 10 days in CO (DH's 45th reunion from the Air Force Academy). Wonderful trip and able to bring my mom back with us for a month or so. She will be 97 while she is with us and could probably out-golf both of us:rotfl:. 3princessmommy will arrive Fri afternoon for the long weekend before heading to DC for her specialized training conference. We are surprising her grandmother (my mom) with her visit and celebrating her birthday a couple of days late. :goodvibes

Frantically working on FEs and hoping for some help with our extender when Joann arrives this weekend.:confused3 Can't wait. Lots happening!

Welcome to all the new cruisers. Excitement builds.:woohoo:

This is AWESOME!!!!! Way to go!!! I'm sure DH and I will be undertaking similar types of things when we head by to DC next summer - after five years of renters, our house will need some tender loving care.

We also have a DD8 (almost 9 next week) and a DD3 (will be 4 right after cruise). If you'd like to get the older girls together via e-mail before the cruise, send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll DD send yours a note.
