So what is the latest? Do Magic bands work for anything in Aulani? Should we bring them?

What do you need the room key for?Magic Bands work for pretty much everything at Aulani. But you'll still need to bring your room key with you for some things.
The last time I saw them was pre-covid.They used to be for sale in the gift shop. Are they no longer there?
Not sure about photo pass, since we don’t use it, but yes to everything else. Both MB and MB+ work. Can anyone who has been there recently confirm where Magic Bands are working, and if it matters if they are MB or MB+?
The times we've been there years ago they worked to open doors. Now I am looking for if they can be used for:
- Bracelet check in at the pool in the morning
- Charging to the room at various restaurants
- Photopass
Thanks!

The question in particular was asking about magic band use at Aulani. Seems like this response is copied from another thread, or perhaps you misunderstood the question? All touchpoints (i.e. you tap your band to something) work with:
Long-range features require:
- MagicBand 1
- MagicBand 2, regardless of how old the battery is
- MagicBand+, regardless of whether the battery is charged or not
Enhanced features that require MagicBand+ include:
- MagicBand 2 with a live battery (batteries have roughly a 2-year shelf life)
- MagicBand+ with a charged battery
Of the things you mentioned, PhotoPass is the only one that might be an issue (kind of). When you tap your band with a photographer, any band will work. Some ride photos automatically link to your account by scanning your band from a distance while you're on the ride. This requires a band with a functional battery, but it can be either a MagicBand 2 that isn't super old or a charged MagicBand+. You can also enable certain permissions where your phone will do the linking over Bluetooth even if you don't have a band. There are QR code instructions on how to set this up in certain attraction queues.
- 50th Anniversary statue scavenger hunt
- Bounty hunter game in Galaxy's Edge
- Lighting up during shows and in some attractions
- Disney Cruise Line
Yeah, the old ones work fine. I don’t think there’s any additional benefit there to the magic band+ either. As far as I know, there aren’t any interactive experiences that the new magic bands trigger.Well geez I bought a Magic Band+ since I assumed I needed it. My old Magic Band would have worked at Aulani?
You can use the MB+ at DLand, so it was the right call.Well geez I bought a Magic Band+ since I assumed I needed it. My old Magic Band would have worked at Aulani?

That will work out great then! You can use the MB+ at DLand, so it was the right call.
It makes FastPass so much easier..
I’m at Aulani right now and I used my band to open the door of my room, get my pool wrist bands and charge our character breakfast (had to physically remove my band for this one). I love the band at Aulani because I’m the type to misplace my room keySo what is the latest? Do Magic bands work for anything in Aulani? Should we bring them?
