Is DL using them yet? Can I connect the one I just used at WDW?
They are not used at DL yet. They were announced for sometime in 2022 but no specific date yet. Also not confirmed what they will be used for but at minimum I would think Park Entry and Lightning Lane touch points.I've only been to WDW. So based on this thread are you saying magic bands are not used at Disneyland? Is everything done via mobile?
You can either use mobile or the paper ticket they give you.I've only been to WDW. So based on this thread are you saying magic bands are not used at Disneyland? Is everything done via mobile?
At DLR, you can either scan the ticket off your phone or a printout if that's all you have. When you first get scanned in, the cast member will take your photo and then hand you a paper ticket. Then you can either scan the ticket each day or use your ticket on the app. Some will just take a screenshot of their ticket and keep it in their photos to make it easier to find.I've only been to WDW. Ok finally understanding this…..there is a scanner like slot….You could go with a lanyard but if you get Genie+ you'll have to pull out the phone or scan the park ticket to redeem your LL pass. The tickets are pretty small and paper. I think WDW is a card so it makes sense to have something you can hold up to the Genie+/Magic Band stands. Not so much in DLR where you have stick your phone or card into a 2 inch rectangular opening to get the machine to scan.
The paper ticket is still a holder over from the old Fastpass system. You would insert your paper ticket into the Fastpass distributor machines and it would give you the paper Fastpass after it scanned your ticket and saw you were allowed to book the Fastpass. Then they switched to a more WDW system with the Maxpass system and you could use the app to redeem or keep getting the paper Fastpass. The Maxpass was great because it allowed you to book your first selection immediately as you were scanned into the park at the turnstile versus having to run to a machine for the paper Fastpass after rope drop. When you redeemed your Maxpass selection, you could then go on the app and book your next one. So you could just from ride to ride with Maxpass.Ok finally understanding this…..there is a scanner like slot….
At WDW castmembers scanned you for a while, then Magic band cane and that was the best….
So , the best course is still have each adult scan the phone or they have to use the ticket, which is paper?
Seems like a really bad way to do things, paper ticket?
Wait.. I thought you could also scan your ticket for genie + selections? You can't?You could go with a lanyard but if you get Genie+ you'll have to pull out the phone or scan the park ticket to redeem your LL pass. The tickets are pretty small and paper. My ticket from last week is 3.5 by 2 inches.
You can. I meant ticket not card. I saw a Key Holder use his card to redeem the Genie+ in front of us last week.Wait.. I thought you could also scan your ticket for genie + selections? You can't?
Oh thanks! You can. I meant ticket not card. I saw a Key Holder use his card to redeem the Genie+ in front of us last week.
I believe Key Holders have a card they pull out and can use to scan into the parks and redeem Genie+ selections.
Then I wonder what this guy had because it was definitely a card like you would see at WDW and he used it for Genie+ redemptions. Cast member card?We do not. Magic Key Holders were not given any physical ticket media officially and are highly encouraged to only use the app (and sometimes have to prove the screen isn't a screenshot, but the actual app depending on how strict the CM is).
Fine print says we can choose to have a paper ticket printed for $20 (there was a window they were issuing the first one for free to some Key Holders, but you have to go to a ticket booth to get it. They won't issue them at the turnstiles). But they are not issued to us as a standard thing and are only the same paper they give to ticketed guests.
If you purchase a Disneyland Resort Vacation Package (via Disney or Costco), it includes a free lanyard and pin.Would it be wise to get a lanyard if you didnt want to have to use you phone for a big group?
Yes. The ones at WDW vary in price. No idea on what the cost will be at DLR yet.Is there extra charges for these Magic Bands?
