Do you buy Magic Bands for your offsite stays? Where do you get them?

They are available at the main shops in the parks and at the Pin Trading store in DS.

You really don’t need MBs because your plastic tickets function in the same manner. As an offsite guest, the MB will only be used for park entrance and FP lines.

Our last trip was onsite and we really liked having the bands- our tickets and fastpasses were on our wrists at all times, it was super easy, no looking for tickets or worrying that I'd lost them. But our old MB are version 1 from 2014 so I doubt they'd still work.

Old MBs still work for park entrance and FP lines.

The only thing they won’t allow is the ride photos and videos because the battery that powers the long-range RFID signal is probably dead. You can always tap in with 1 ticket card for photos except at 7D and maybe Frozen.

Also if you don't have your old ones and have time you can order them online from Disney app or Disney Store, even get on sale via a Disney Store sale.

We don't. We just used magic bands from previous onsite stays for our offsite stay last year.

You can purchase on the Shop Disney app or website.

You can also purchase at many gift shops in Disney.
You could go to Disney Springs or a resort to purchase prior to going to the parks.

If your going to be there for a longer time i would order them. It's just easier than keeping up with a card the whole time. If you were just doing a couple of days i might not get one. I've ordered them off the shop Disney app and they usually come in 4-5 days. They hardly ever offer a percentage off magic bands but sometimes you can score free shipping. I just prefer do get them beforehand because i like linking everything together before we leave. The last trip we went on i had trouble getting one to link after i was on hold it still took about 45 minutes to get it to link. The lady said she had never had this kind of problem linking one(just my luck....) i would have hated wasting that time in the park if we would have waited until we got there to buy them.
