Magic Bands

Can you buy the special magic bands (star wars, minnie etc) in Epcot or the Magic Kingdom?

They have Magic Bands on sale pretty much everywhere. If you mean "special" as in limited Edition ones you may have to hunt around a bit more for those ones. The photo shop at the front of Hollywood Studios is where we found the Frozen ones a couple years ago and not any where else.

I know you can get personalized Magic Bands with Graphics of your choice in some of the parks and Disney Springs. I've added the attached link with a bit more info:

I would assume they would definitely have a Minnie one and as Star Wars is so popular I would be surprise if they didn't have those as well. Also you can get your name on it too

The Star Wars ones are mainly available in DHS.

There are a couple of designs in MK according to the Disney Parks shop app.

Ok. I'm probably a little slow. It's been 10years since my family visited and we are arriving in July. The magic bands are a complete new experience. they seem to be an easy option to travel around the parks. Any tips will gratefully be received. Thanks.

If you stay onsite you get a MagicBand free. If you are offsite you can buy them in nearly every shop and they do make life a lot easier as they mean you don't have to keep track of your card tickets.

You link everything to your "My Disney Experience" account on the WDW website - this is where all your tickets are FPs are stored. The MagicBand or card just act as a way to get to this information. There is also an app you can download for your phone or tablet

I personally really like the magic bands although I know others who don't like to wear them. You can still ask to have your info stored on a key card (the old room key style) which will work just as well.

The only thing they don't do, is the automatic photopass scanning, so you have to scan at the end of the ride to collect your photos
