We are staying offsite. It's been a few years since we have visited WDW. Are most people still using Magic Bands? Do you still use them for Genie+/LL rides like we did with the FP system?

Thank you.

We are staying off-site this trip and we absolutely are planning on using MBs. Besides using then for tickets, we'll be using them for DAS and if we decide to do G+/ILL. I hated pulling my phone out and scrolling over to my Wallet and opening up to the ticket stored there every time we did a FP last time we were at DLR. It was battery draining!

If I didn't have old MB's and was staying off site, I would just use the admission media/park pass, the park greeter can issue you one on your first day.

Just purchase a lanyard and ID pouch; either at Disney or in advance at staples or Walmart for easy access to scan and go! Everyone wears their own or clips them to a backpack, beltloop etc.

We used our MBs from our 2014 trip during our 3 park day stay at the Dolphin last week. They worked great and it was nice to have something a bit different than everyone else. Lets face it - they're fun to use! I'm not sure if I'd spend $20 to buy them, however, for a short offsite trip. As unrequited23 said, I think that money would be better invested in another ILL. The deciding factor for me would be if it were a long trip and I was going to do the photo package.

We've been behind families who were trying to tap phones or Apple watches at lightning lanes, and about a quarter of the time the nasty blue light came on and they were pulled aside to fix the problem. We used older magic bands on a recent 6-day trip and never had an issue with scanning.

I find any time I've used the cards, they always hate me, whereas the MagicBand always works for me (knock on wood)

Yes. We have been fully offsite for years and always wear MB.

Last summer whole family went. Two of us with MagicBands and other four used tickets or phone. MB and Tickets were so much faster than the "apple" option. But MB are right there and ticket had to be pulled out. We used for entering and LL.

We just used our 2 year old MBs earlier this month, but I did notice more people using cards. However, they almost always had to stop at the entrance and dig in their ag to find the cards and tap in to LLs instead of having them out ready to go. I just think the MBs are harder to lose and more convenient

We went over a thanksgiving and my kids all wanted Magic Bands, and my husband and I also used them. It was just easier for us, one less thing to have to “get out” in line. And the kids absolutely love to tap their magic bands. It makes them feel special.
