if we have different types of tickets linked to magic bands all non exp some just with fun and more options left, some park days and some park days with hopper when entering the turnstile how does system know which ticket to use? We wouldn't want to use a hopper day if we were only staying in the one park?

Thanks

You need to visit Guest Relations outside the park main entrance gate. There's a GR at each park, to the right or left of the entrance. A Park Map will show where the GR facility is located. They are usually open at least 1/2 hr before park opening. Tell them you need to prioritize your ticket (hopper or non-hopper). The ticket you choose will be listed in first priority and used for gate entry. When there comes the day you want the other ticket in first priority, you must visit Guest Relations again to make the switch. This procedure isn't something you can do on your own.

Or I guess we could just use the card ticket for entry and magic bands for fp+ right?

Yes. The card ticket has to be a more recent RFID-enabled one (from the past 1-1/2 yrs). It can be traded-in if it isn't RFID (no charge). If you're not sure, visit a ticket booth or GR first before trying it at the Mickey-head entry. Most ppl don't want to carry an actual card around with them. But the card ticket can be used for FP+ entry, too.

Yep our cards are RFID. We stay offsite but husband thought would be nice to get the bands, personally I don't see the point as only real benefit is scanning at FP.

That looks to be the case.
