Magic Bands "Transferable"?

We are traveling with friends who will be getting APs when they arrive, so they won't have Magic Bands for this visit. We have a ton of extra bands after upgrading to the 2.0 version recently. Can I give their daughter one of our old ones to have guest services transfer her newly-purchased AP on it (until they get theirs in the mail)? I just thought she'd like to have one for the trip since my girls have them

Nope. Once a MagicBand has been assigned to a person in MDE, it can never be reassigned to someone else.

but you can buy her a MB either from Disney.com before you get there or at Disney it self. they have a lot of ones to chose from too.

Are they staying on site? If so, they will get regular MBs, which are exactly the same as an AP one just without the slider.
