Question
My sister is staying offsite. She went this summer and stayed on property but only went with 2 of her kids. Now she is going with all 3 kids and her husband. She only has magic bands for her and the two that went in the summer. She was going to use 2 of our magic bands but it won't let her since they were already linked to us. She just linked her tickets she bought from AAA but she is only seeing hers and the 2 kids that have the magic band but can't see if the other two (husband and other child) are linked. How does she find out without a magic band? Also, can she buy a magic band for them now and link it? They have old magic bands from a few years ago. Can they bring those and trade them in for updated ones at no cost?

thanks

1. Is her whole family linked on her My Disney Experience account? (under My Family and Friends under My Disney Experience menu in the upper right) . Her husband may have his own MDE account and might need to accept an email invitation, but there should be directions to walk her through that if he's not part of her friends and family already. I'm wondering if that's what she means by not being able to see the admission linked??
2. As offsite guests, the MagicBands are just an alternative to the admission cards, the others don't HAVE to have them. They're just convenient for admission and using Fastpass.
3. She can buy the other two magic bands today, at the parks, or whenever. They can be linked under My MagicBands and Cards. Each person can have multiple bands as well, like if someone sees some awesome limited-edition one that they can't live without while they are there...they can link it up right then and start using it.
4. She should check in MDE and see if those old MagicBands are still assigned to the two family members (serial numbers on the back of the bands can be compared to what she sees online), if so, they can still use them. The only thing that will be lacking is the far distance photo opportunities on some rides and attractions. But for admission and fastpass they don't rely on battery power.
5. There's no trade-in for new ones. Like I mentioned, they'll still work. Or if they want new ones they will need to buy them.
