Magic bands, resort stay and offsite stay

We are booking our first night at the campground so the kids can go to the movie and make s'mores then settling in a condo offsite.

I gather we will get magic ands and they can be linked to our tickets. Can we book fp's for just the one day at 60 days or for the entire 5 days? And will our magicbands stay active even after we move on?

Just in case you don't realize this: you don't need to book a night at a campsite to do the movie and campfire - they are open to everyone.
