Magic bands question

Sorry if this was the wrong spot to post but I couldn't find a more appropriate place and I also saw questions regarding the bands so here goes. I have made my trip reservations for February. I have also received the confirmation emails from Disney. The email linked me to the site to order my new magic bands which I clicked onto. That site only showed me the previous bands I had and also showed that they were all still active. There was no way I could order new bands. Is the new policy, if you have old bands, use them? We like new bands every year because we save them as souvenirs of our trip. We also like to use new colors every year. What gives? I tried the WDW site and the same site where it said to click to order or customize your new bands was the same.

I didn't have that issue and I still had bands attached to me from my trip last year. But the only reason I knew that is because we had many duplicate accounts in MDE, and I had to call Disney IT to get them deleted. She said that one of the accounts for my son that I could not delete was attached to a Red Band (his band from last year) so I couldn't get him removed from my Friends and Family list. Too long to go into here, but I think you could call Disney IT and get them disconnected from your account.

Is your new reservation linked in MDE?

That is the most common issue when new bands don't show up for selection / customization. You always are offered new MBs with every reservation. Here is a link within your MDE where you should see your currently active MBs & cards and also should show your new reservation with MB to select.

That is what I had originally done, just like I have for the last 13 trips but this time it was different. It showed every band and card I have ever used but nowhere is there an option to customize a new set. I even went so far as to list all of the past bands as lost and still no change. I guess I will have to call.
