Magic Bands question and tips...

Hi ...haven't been to Disney since magic bands became a thing... I feel like I read somewhere that someone is getting designed ones...not just the plain color ones?? Is there such a thing?? Any other tips or ideas on how to make them cute other than just the plain colors....TIA

I know you can buy the designed ones in the stores at the resorts and in the parks. Then, to my understanding, all you must do is take them to the front desk and have them activated. I have also seen on Pinterest where people have painted theirs and/or add sticker/temporary tattoos to decorate them.

In addition to the designed ones that Disney sells, there are some companies that make vinyl overlays for them that can be customized. magicyourband.com, myfantasybands.com and there are some Etsy sellers as well

DD bought a pink Marie band at Mousegears a couple years ago. CM opened it at the register and activated it right there.

As of 6/27/2017, the CM will no longer activate or link a MagicBand for the purchaser. All retail MagicBands sold will automatically be in a "Link it Now" (formerly called "Link it Later") state and the purchaser will link them manually using MDE.

You can also order a custom one while in the parks and have it printed. We did that just a few days ago in the Space Mountain gift shop. Took 30 minutes, including time for them to print it.

Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. @ MK
Star Wars Launch Bay @ DHS (Star Wars designs only)
D-Tech on Demand inside of Marketplace Co-op at Disney Springs

Cases for many smartphones can also be made at the above locations.

My DBF ordered a Luke Skywalker one for his upcoming October trip. He started out ordering the plain purple one on MDE, then cancelled it when he found out there was a Star Wars themed one
