Hi - At first I was going to purchase Magic Kingdom tickets in advance but after thinking about it, I think I want to put it off. 1 - incase my flight gets delayed and 2- weather.

We are flying in the day before our Disney Cruise - Thursday. Our cruise departs on Friday. We do not arrive into Orland till 12pm. So that means we will not be arriving at our Disney Resort till about 1-2pm. Once I complete check in and drop my luggage's off, I plan to head straight to the Magic Kingdom on their transportation because it's faster. Trying our best to get to Magic Kingdom fast the day to make the most of it since we are purchasing 4 tickets to get just for basically half a day. Park closes at 9pm that day :(

About 7 hours there is worth it, right? I'm use to going opening to closing. I guess 7 hrs is ok, since we won't be waiting for characters and also cause we don't want to be too tired since we'll be on the cruise the next day.

Now - about the Fast Pass. Since I am staying at Disney All Star Resort that night, I believe I am getting Magic Bands because online, they let me customize them. So my BIG question is - if I purchase my tickets for Magic Kingdom at the gate, am I able to link those tickets to my Magic Band immediately and start adding fast passes to it? How does that work the day of? I normally have purchased packages before and did this all in advance.

Thank you for your advices :)

You can make FP's once your tickets are linked to your MDE account. Tickets aren't linked to the magic band itself

If your trip is more than a month out, park hours for MK will likely be extended

I would try to buy the tickets as soon as you can and are for sure you're going to the park. If you're selecting FP's the day of, you'll be selecting from a far more limited selection vs selecting from even a few days out

I agree with buying the tickets in advance, allowing you to set up your FP's for the times you want.

Worst case, if the weather is awful or your flight badly delayed to the point that it isn't worth going. you can always use that ticket some other time or apply it to a multi-day if you're at WDW longer.

I concur..buy the tickets cheaper in advance I believe? and link for FP. You can always save for another trip
