Magic Bands/Passes

My wife and I have AP linked to our Magic Bands as we come home often. My son and his family are coming with us and are on our DVC reservation for the room next trip so my questions are. They purchased 5 day park hopper tickets. Do they need to purchase Magic Bands or can they use a physical card? One of my granddaughters is under 3 so no ticket required but does she need some type of MB or card to get into parks? Are ther any complimentry MB as they probably will not be going back for a few years and to pay for one time magic bands seems foolish? TIA for your help, Have a Magical Day

They can use a card. There are no complimentary magicbands anymore -- that ended quite some time ago.

They can get the cards at the front desk. They'll act as room keys and park passes.

I can't answer the question about your granddaughter.

No card or MB needed since she doesn't need park admission due to age.

The card would work just like the band. The front desk would link the cards to each persons MDE account.

Genie+ / ILL doesn't link to a band / card, rather each person's MDE account. The band / cards are linked to the MDE account. Hope that makes sense.

She doesn't need one, but if she is anything like the toddlers I know, she'll want one when she sees everyone else has one, LOL. Grandma or Grandpa may have to let her use one of theirs to tap for one of the rides occasionally (if you decide to purchase Genie+).

Or maybe one of you could get an extra key for the room that doesn't allow charging. Then he/she could be in charge of letting everyone into the room, LOL.

Makes perfect sense. Didn’t think through G+ and ILL were liked to MDE
