Magic Bands or not?

We're not staying at a Disney hotel and there are 8 of us going. Only to the Magic Kingdom and only for one day. I thought about just buying one magic band, do you think that would be enough? Would 2 be better? There are really only 5 of us going on most of the rides. I'm going to be buying the memory maker.

I think it's pointless for 1 day. Use the tickets for your FPs and photopass.

Every person has to tap into FPs, so only 1 or 2 people having MBs means all the others have to use their tickets...I'm not seeing an advantage?

They want the magic band so they can get their on ride photos. Depending on the rides you're planning, you'd only need one for pirates or splash, but you would need two for mine train. Haunted Mansion would be the big issue as you only have 2 people per car so you would need 4, but I find it hard to get a decent ride shot here.

Ah, I forgot about the onride photos you can't tap for.

We've always leveraged the bands with our memory maker, but I thought with those without bands could still get their photos attached to a PhotoPass after the ride somewhere in the store?

I was going to say MB's are absolutely necessary, until I read that you're only going to 1 park for 1 day. Maybe one of you could get a plain one so the ride photos get connected, but other than that, I think it's a waste. Your card tickets will be fins for the day.
