magic bands on MyDisney Experience

it seems like every time I go on to "choose our magic band" there are different options other than the basic solid colors, but they don't stay long and drop off and new ones added- does anyone know how often they change? looking for a unique one for a lower price that are sometimes offered on there- seems random?

They come and go randomly. If you see one you like, grab it quickly

We aren't going till Nov/Dec but we COULD "order" our MagicBands now but I have held off. If we selected them now would we be able to change them before they actually ship, which wouldn't be til early Nov anyway, or would we be "stuck" with what we picked now, 8+ months before our trip?

wanted to order 2 premium ones for my DGDs. was looking daily for about a month in January and February. Finally saw 2 that I thought they would love and ordered them ASAP. we have 2 rooms, so 2 orders. The 3 adults just went with the plain free ones so as to make sure the kids got the other ones.
for weeks the number offered were 13-18, very few premium ones.
as others have said, if you see one (s) grab them; the 2 I got for my grand daughters have not been available since. I keep checking as we have a split stay and keep hoping the pretty new mint colored one might be available as a free one.

If your just choosing one of the free solid colors you can change them as many times as you like until close to your trip. The upgraded ones you pay for are charged and sent when you order them so they can’t be changed.

Yeah, I think it’s completely random based on availability. I definitely agree with previous posters- if you see one you like, grab it!
