Magic bands help!!!

Hi, I got an email from Disney saying they are ready to ship our magic bands and I just need to customize them. First of all We are not paying for tickets to get in the parks because my uncle is a cast member and is getting us in with his family passes. We are staying at a Disney resort though. So will I just set up to use them for the hotel and not the tickets? Will we still be able to set up fast pass if we don't have tickets. We won't have our ticket passes until the day we arrive when we go in with my uncle. Can I still use the bands for buying food and items at the parks and hotel?? How about Downtown Disney? I'm clueless. Help please!!!

You will be able to use the MagicBands to enter your room and to charge purchases to your room (with CC on file w/resort) at most locations at WDW.

You need to have admission linked to your MDE profile in order to make advance FP+ selections.

The MBs operate in place of the KTTW room keys you would normally get (although you can request key cards at checkin) - so if you set up a credit card to charge you will be able to charge to your room - just as you could with the KTTW card - anywhere in WDW (parks, Disney resorts, DTD, etc.)

Without tickets you should NOT be able to make any FP+ selections (I use the word "should" as you never know what Disney IT will do)

Also, it shows they are sending us 5 bands but my kids don't need them being as they are very little. Is there a way to cancel the 3 for the kids and only have two sent? Maybe I should call?

You can make ADRs without tickets.

I don't honestly know if there is a way to cancel the three for your kids (although I suspect there is not), however, consider that just because the kids don't *need* them doesn't necessarily mean that they won't *want* them. They'll see you and lots of other guests with them and they may want to wear the cool bracelet, too, even if they aren't using it for anything.

Just something to consider.

You should also be able to double up on fastpasses in the park. Use your magic band in the park to set up fastpasses (up to 3). Then use your tix to make fastpasses (up to 3 more). Thats if you dont link the tix to your magic band.

I don't believe she can use her MBs for FP+ unless tickets are linked to them. MDE only functions for fast passes if there are tickets linked. She can use he tickets once in the park to make her 3 choices.

Also, if you going to double up on FP+, you will need a magic band for each person in your party that you want a FP for. And then a tix for each person for those 2nd sets of FPs .
