This is the first time we are using magic bands and MDE so hope my questions don't seem dumb. I also posted similar in strategies so if this is not appropriate here, sorry and please delete.

We will be receiving our tickets in the mail on Tuesday to add them to MDE. We are a party of 3 me, dh and dd staying at POR for 6 nights, but my dd is also on a reservation in her friends room arriving 3 days later, so she will be moving to her room and doing most of her park going with that family for the last 3 days.

How do I add fastpasses for her for the first half of our stay, but also have the friends family using their own MDE put her on their FP+ when she is with them? Is the ticket connected to the MDE account or the magic band( which she will have 2 of - one for each reservation )

Also, can she keep using her original magic band to charge back to our room and also have it open the new room to the friends reservation(which she is also listed on)

Thanks!

1. As long as EVERYONE currently has tickets, (that will be valid on the date of YOUR check-in) you can book everyone who is IN YOUR PARTY at 60 days from YOUR reservation date... through the end of YOUR reservation date.

2. Yes. Everything will be connected in the MyDisneyExperience account(s) and
the MB will simply access that account.

The tickets and magic bands are both attached to the MDE account. So any active band on an account will work for tickets, charging, and room access (or so goes theory). The charging is the odd ball here. To me it sounds like you would want to end up with 2 accounts. One, that you/she controls that has the ticket linked to it, along with the band for your reservation. She should then have the other party add her as a family/friend and do the FP+ booking that way. Then she should set up a second account that doesn't have a ticket linked to it, and that one exists solely to be linked to the second reservation to give her access to the room. Yes, it's two bands on two different, but I would think it simplifies things.

In theory you could have the one account linked only to your reservation for the first part, and then to the second hotel booking. However, in order to have it get charged back to your credit card you would need to stop by the desk and have that band on their hotel reservation setup to charge to your card, and not theirs. Doable, but not always the easiest thing, some CMs still don't understand you can link different cards to different bands.

Thanks...can we add her ticket to both our MDE and the friends MDE so that the fastpasses work for both? Which magic band does she then use for park entrance? The original one from our room when she is with us, and the new one for the friends room when she is with them?

I'm so confused?!?

ALL MBs registered to an individual guest will work 100% of the time at WDW.

So, if a guest has 2 MBs registered to her/him, she/he can use either band, interchangeably.
If a guest has 3 MBs registered to her/him, she/he can use any or all of the bands, interchangeably.

This goes for multiple trips at the same time, or over the course of multiple years.

ALL MBs registered to a given guest will work 100% of the time at WDW.
But how do the 2 separate reservations made by me and the friends family, issuing separate MBs know to associate my daughter as the same person on both reservations?

You will customize a MB for each person, for each reservation.

When you get the MBs, they will be marked according to which guest is to use them.

Once a MB is assigned to an individual guest, it will always be assigned to that guest.

Sorry for all the questions.....but if the friends has my dd in her MDE as a separate guest than my MDE - in other words they are not linked in any way- I think that is where I am confused....does my dd need her own MDE and both me and the friend link to her so that we are both pointing to her?

And should I add my daughters ticket to my MDE or create her own MDE and add it there?

that maybe best thing to do but I can see Disney finding a way to screw it up.
