Magic Bands for infants?

We just booked our trip for September, and we have four 1 year olds going (two sets of twins in two families - 21 months old & 16 months old). When doing the MyDisney Experience, I was asked to customize bands for the babies. That surprised me - what are they for? Will they even fit?

I have seen people say they put them on the babies ankles or hook it onto the babies diaper bag.

The babies don't need to wear them for anything. They don't get dining credits, FP+, etc. Older toddlers might wear them if everyone else in the party has one on. My DD was 2.5 on our last strip, she wanted one because her brother was wearing one.

I think everyone gets one because then the bands become yours forever. Mine from last September are still listed in my Disney account.

We haven't gone yet but we got them in the mail including for my daughter who will be 23 months. I think she'll wear it since she was really excited at wearing it when they arrived. It fit her fine and would have fit somebody a good deal smaller but she's big for her age.

You can remove a part of the band (the black part that goes around it) so it fits better for toddlers. There's no reason to wear them if the kids don't want to, but if they feel like it, the option's there!

Ours didn't need to wear it, but it's cute to go on the stroller, he likes playing with it, and it's perfect for a baby book.

We had to take them away from our 1yo and 2yo on the last trip, they kept taking them off and almost losing them, plus they didn't need it at all. Was fun to have them though.

DD will get one and I say it's a part of her souvenirs she'll have. I don't think she plans on charging anything.

Yup, my 20 month old got one. She doesn't care but I can see how a two year old would see siblings with them and be disappointed if she didn't have one.
