looks like they are finally working - problem is got told (once I got to the site) that Dec 1 only had 7 days to put in their request.

otherwise Disney would pick out one for you.

The reason you only have 7 days to customize is that they normally process and ship them 30 days prior to check-in.

yes but when the system is not working - they should allow extra time.

it just started working yesterday - was here on Monday and it still refused to work.
 
We are going in December, but haven't gotten an invitation for Magic Bands. We are staying at BLT and pre purchased PAPs last year during the promotion, which we will pick up once we get there. I MS called earlier this week and was told that until they send us invitations for magic bands we won;t be able to request them. Are you saying that we can request them now. Or are we out of luck because we have vouchers and not tickets associated with our rooms?

Go to My Disney Experience and see if it will allow you to customize magic bands. My customized Magic Band arrived via UPS the same day that I finally received the invitation email and snail mailed invitation. If the website lets you do it, go ahead and do it.

I customized MagicBands for our 12/6 check-in a week ago (10/17).
 
Likewise Michael we were able to customize last week for our Dec 6 trip.

I travel the 27th Dec., and you have to go to my Disney Experience to find it. I am also staying at BLT.

I was surprised to see my magic bands were in there.

There is a schedule (posted somewhere, sorry I don't have a link) that shows the date that each resort begins participation.

To the OP: Yes, it would be nice to be able to customize, but they do need more than 7 days.
 
Ditto. We are there from Dec 18-29 and I did all my past pass etc last weekend. I am waiting for the BOG and parade fans passes to open up and then complete everything

I have an AP and it won't let me do the fast pass option for the Magic Bands. Has anyone else had issues? It tells me I need to have my tickets linked but I only have a confirm for my renewal from Disney since mine expired.

I have the same problem. My PAP expires Dec 2 and I do not arrive until Dec 8. The MDE site keeps telling me that I need a ticket linked in order to choose my FP+ selections for my Dec 8 trip.

I have a prepaid renewal pass but I am afraid that if I try to link it now, it will activate the new PAP now. When I spoke to MS last week they could not guarentee that my PAP renewal would not activate upon linking it.

Can anyone let me know if it activates day of linking or day of first use.

You can link your pass, but if you can't get it to work, you can call the IT number on the MDE site, and they will help you. I've become good friends with the IT department! :rotfl2: I think I had to have them fix everything several times already. Hopefully I have it all right now.

Your renewal will activate to your expiration date no matter when you pay it.

For your renewal, you still need to go to Guest Relations or a Park Ticket Window to complete the renewal process. The expiration date of your renewed AP will be one year from the expiration date of the expiring AP. Linking the voucher will not complete the renewal process.

It will activate day of first use. I had all these same issues.... My current AP expires 12/8....that is entered... and underneath I can see the "next" pass ready to take over.

I have the DVC Premium pass they sold last year and Disney had a helluva time getting it entered. "My Disney Experience" site just would not accept the pass number from the back...it took 2 phone calls to Tech Support and a few hours on hold to finally get it corrected.

In addition, they needed an entire day and phone calls to DVC.... and finally last night @ 8pm I got an email that my passes were entered and I could continue.

** Keep in mind you cannot make Fastpass+ reservations without a pass entered.
The pass must be current, to the date you are making the reservation, for the Fastpass+ reservation to be made. THAT is why you will need to have that "next" pass entered..... and you'll want to have it all good so you can continue the planning process.

I cleared up my pass problems and now can see the "Premium Pass from DVC", without any dates on it.

I can't make any Fastpass+ reservations until 10/29..... so I cannot be sure I won't have any more glitches. But, it seems I have everything in place to continue when the eligible dates come up.
 
We have a AP i could not enter the numbers....I called DVC and she ask if I was invited to participate....i said no and that was it....the pass expires in Jan and we are going in mid Dec...
Maybe i should call the DVC tech line then...any suggestions? and thanks...

On the "My Disney Experience" website, log into your account and click on the right side where it says "My profile"...... then click on the Magic Bands link to see if there are Magic Bands assigned to you.

This is what I did on the advice of someone on Facebook.

I was surprised to see Magic Bands there assigned to me for my December trip.
I customized them right then to be sure my eyes were not deceiving me, and to kinda confirm to myself it wasn't a mistake.

If you can do this much.... then continue on to add your passes.

I hope this is articulate .... I'm not a techie type person.

** If you get that far, and still have problems entering passes THEN call Tech Support and have them enter them for you.
Then you'll be able to TELL them you have Magic Bands and need help loading passes onto My Disney Experience.
 
We arrive December 8th, and I was having tons of problems with the website not recognizing me. So last night I downloaded the MDE app, signed in, and lo and behold there was everything. I was able to customize our bands, which I only had a few days left to do, and scan our AP vouchers which meant I was able to start picking FP+. Don't know what the issue was, but I am willing to do it all from my phone if it will just work.
 
Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to link my PAP voucher confirmation and customize my bands. It's amazing how calling MS they give you misinformation because I still haven't gotten invitations to participate. If I had waited I would have missed my window to customize my bands and get FP+ reservations. DISers always give better advice.
