Magic bands confuse me

I know that disney has started magic bands but I am still confused and lost by what I have found out.

Overall I understand that they are your tickets and hotel access but past that it's all a weird.

I've heard that there are "hidden events " that are activated by the bands but I have found only one example and can't find that video again.
Then my other question is can you set up different credit cards for different bands(I'll be going with friends so if we can guarantee that we won't be charged for the other persons stuff well try it but otherwise nope).

If a anyone has information on using the bands it would be greatly appreciated.

I find it confusing too. I'm learning as I go along. The only thing I've done right now is order my magic bands in the color(s) everyone wanted. I plan on linking my ADR's next. Have you been to the My Disney Experience website? A lot of information there. Plus, you can always call. I'm a DVC member and have called them numerous times about the magic bands and they have been very helpful. I was just reading a thread about the credit card thing and being able to use different ones....there are a lot of threads about this on the boards.

The only "magic" thing I've heard of is the little music that plays when you get the green light with the MB as you go through the Haunted Mansion FP+ entrance.

I'm probably behind the times, but as far as I know now, anything else they might be planning is still in the works.

If I were traveling with guests and was *worried* about charges going to the wrong accounts, I just wouldn't use room charging. Well, *I* would, and I would just have the guests use their credit cards when buying things. Just don't give them the PIN you set up and they can't charge to the MB.
