So excited we got our Magic Bands yesterday!!!!! BUT I just changed a dinner reservation from Boma to The Wave. Will our bands magically know this or do they have to reprogram them when we check in? Thanks!!!!:wave2:

The only function a MagicBand can perform for dining is payment by either dining plan credits or room charge. If you are not using one of these payment methods, you will not use (or even need) your MagicBand for the meal.

Currently, the only time you would use a MagicBand for a dining reservation, is if you have a FP+ time for lunch at Be Our Guest in the MK.

PP is right about dining reservations.

Also, nothing is actually stored on the bands. The band contains the way to communicate with the MDE database. You can change anything, including your FP+, right up until you walk onto the ride, and it will know.

As others have said, the Magic Band only has basically a serial number in it. Which is unique and used as a "key" for the database. A few things get a "push" of data so they can operate independently (like the door locks.)

I'm not 100% sure about the door locks, but I know most systems do that, so people aren't "locked" out if communications with the server are interrupted.
