Magic bands and water parks???

Do you wear your magic bands around the water parks? If I don't get a locker, I don't want to just leave them in a bag but are they waterproof?

MagicBands are waterproof, but do not float.

I wore mine and didn't have any problems. I keep a slide retainer thing on it so it does not accidentally come unclipped.

It seemed like most people were wearing them in the pool over at Pop on my recent trip, so I'm sure that water isn't a problem.

One of my favorite things about Magic Bands!!! Makes it easy to stop and get a snack while at the water parks. No running back and forth to the lockers. We have never had one fall off.

DH wore his for 2 whole weeks.....never took it off. Showers and everything. It is fine.

How do you get one of those?

They sell them all over or comes with your bands if you are a DVC owner. I like them. A little extra security. Once you band is snapped together it slides down over the snapped together part to keep them together.

yes wear them at the water parks.
i wear mine when swimming and its so much nicer than wrapping your KTTWC in your towel so its not seen and then making sure you don't pick up your towel and lose it.

Magicbands are passive RFID, there is no internal power source or battery. They are powered by a pulse form the reader when used.

Not true. They are active RFID (otherwise their signal wouldn't be picked up on rides for Memory Maker) and they definitely have a battery.

MagicBands contain both active & passive RFID chips.

I never tried them to see if they floated or not but now I know ha! I usually keep mine on for the entire time I'm at WDW. I've never had any problems.
