Magic bands and split stay?

I was able to book 2 weeks at POR with free dining. Its just me and my 2 girls and I was planning on driving, 13 hrs in 2 days all me. Needless to say I was also dreading the driving portion of the trip.
When Southwest had their sale I was able to get airfare at a reasonable price BUT not on the beginning or ending day of our reservation. I had to add 2 nights at the front end and 1 night at the tail of our trip. (I know poor me .) Not a big deal, those nights would have been in hotels on the road. Now we just get extra time at WDW.
Here is my question: our first two nights are at Pop!, then 2 weeks at POR, then 1 night at ASMo. Will we (hopefully) just get 1 set of magic bands mailed and useable for the entire trip?

You'll get 3 sets of MagicBands because you have 3 stays. "Split stay" is a term guests use, but Disney considers this simply 3 resort reservations. You can select any one of your 3 MagicBands to use for the whole trip. Or, you can wear whichever of your 3 on any day during your trip. Just have to limit yourself to using your MagicBand set, not one of the kids' ones.

Your MagicBand is just a wireless receiver that accesses your MDE info when needed, such as at a park touchpoint. So it doesn't matter which MagicBand you're using -- they all go back to your MDE account for the info they need.

3 sets will be available for customization for your family.

If you don't want three, call the main wdw number and see if tech support people can suppress the two unwanted shipments.

I will also be having my first split stay ever in December. I had a similar question regarding the Magic Band so thanks for answering. However, I already have one at home from my trip in February. Do I need to get any new Magic Bands at all? Can I just use the one I already have from my previous trip? Also, with a split stay--this will be one of the rare times that I wasn't planning on renting a car--will Disney move my stuff from POR to by AKL Villa (on points)?

Yes, you can use the one from your previous trip, but they will still send you two new bands for your POR and AKV stays, so you may as well customize them and get some new colors. You can bring them all or just bring one. They will all be interchangeable.

Yes, just ask bell services at POR to move your stuff to AKV. Then call or walk over to bell services when you check in to AKV and they will deliver the luggage to your room. It's usually available late afternoon.
