Magic bands and military tickets question

My dad has a room reservation at the all star music resort. He will be getting his tickets through shades of green. Will he still be getting magic bands or not?

yes, magicbands are attached to the room first then you add your tickets thru MDE

He will get a magic band. When he gets his tickets they can link the tickets to the band. We had the same question and my husband called Disney and it was explained to him

We were just there in December and did the same thing you are doing. You can order your magic bands through My Disney Experience, or get the standard ones at check in. Once there, you will only have access to your room and charging privileges if added. Once you get your tickets from Shades of Green, it becomes somewhat of a headache. You will have to go the a ticket window to have your tickets activated, and then to guest relations at a theme park to have them added to your band. SOG told us the ticket window will be able to add the tickets to our band, so that is what and how we planned, but it was not true. Make sure to add extra time to make this extra stop if you are on your way into the park after activating your tickets. Have an AMAZING trip!!
