If a child is lost, are cast members allowed to use the child's magic band to find the child's name, parent's name, cell phone?

This seems like a missed opportunity by Disney. We all now that at almost every ride your name is shown when a CM scans your MB so, I'm sure there system could be programmed to also display a phone number. I'm actually more surprised to find out that they don't use them for this purpose as well, I just assumed they could.

Don't they already have a centralized system for noting that a lost child has been found? I thought that as soon as a child is found the information goes out throughout the park. I think it would be fairly rare for a parent to receive a phone call notifying them that their kid is missing -- presumably they would know long before the call came in, and they would already be looking for the kid.

In any event, the safest thing is to just do what nervous parents have been doing for years, which is write your phone number on your child's forehead with a sharpie.

The thing is with "intrusion". Can Disney find all that information on a MagicBand? Probably but not yet proven. Will Disney do that first off? No. Because more than likely, the parent is trying to find the child and will do so. There is no need for Disney to go delving into a MagicBand for details when they don't have to.

Now, if a child is in the Security section for longer than maybe 12 or so hours and a parent has not yet even attempted to find their child, then maybe. But I would wager a search on the child's MagicBand would be done with police presence.

It's not necessary. They already have a way to find lost parents ;) and it is so fast that scanning a MB to call them would be useless - CMs don't carry cell phones so it wouldn't be a quick call.
