Honeymooning in WDW end of September beginning of October at The Swan and Dolphin (staying in The Swan). I've been reading a lot of posts recently about people (who haven't used Fastpass+) saying it has ruined their trip and they should have used it as they have had long queues etc. I don't really understand how it all works and if we should be considering it for our trip. Has anyone got an first hand experience with this and any links to posts or websites that will help me decide if we need it?

Also, we were told we can have Magic Bands for our trip but DF and I aren't sure if we REALLY need them. Are their any benifits that make this a must have etc and again, if anyone can give me their experiences are point me to a good post etc that might explain it would be much appreciated.

to start with very basic information

there are no longer fastpasses at WDW.
you can book 3 fastpass+ in advance (30 days for swan/dolphin and general public)
please read this very comprehensive thread :
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3143281

once you've used your first 3 FP+ you can select new ones, like the old fastpass system (while stock lasts)

you will be able to change and choose the time of your FP return window
if you want to secure rides or attractions, definitely book those FP+ at the 30 days mark

note that you need a Mydisneyexperience account with tickets linked to select FP+

it is not mandatory.
the main benefit of magic band is that you have everything around your wrist.
Dining reservations, Fastpasses, Tickets, photopass, it's all in one place and you just scan your wristband to access services.
No need to take your ticket out of a pocket or a bag, or a fastpass ticket, each time you need to use them.
wear it and forget it.

but you can go the old fashioned way with your tickets.
magic bands are free for disney hotel guests, and are around $12.95 for non disney hotel guests (this includes swan/dolphin guests)

Thank you so much. Great information. :thumbsup2

Congratulations on your Wedding and Honeymoon.

My DH and I celebrated our Disneymoon in October 2014, we took full advantage of the MyDisneyExperience app and site to book restaurants and fastpass+ for each day of our stay. Magic Bands were a breeze while we were there. Got us into our rooms, rides, paying for items. I didn't have to worry about pulling out cash or cards like i had to in the past before Magic Bands, when you're hot and excitable its a dream not to have to faff about.

By booking our fastpass+ through the app before we even arrived at the World we found we that meet & greets, along with certain rides we got to experience and without that fab little app we wouldn't have been able to do as much, because it was crazy busy during our DisneyMoon.

Some days we had fastpass+ reservations and knew we wouldn't get to them, so we just fiddled about and rearranged them to meet our needs!! Honestly it was a fantastic part of the trip.

Now that we've used MagicBands and regular tickets, i'd never go back to tickets, MagicBands are free to Disney guests and are fantastic pieces of time saving tech!!

Enjoy planning your DisneyMoon!!:cheer2:
