Magic Bands and Cast Member Sign ins

Hi guys! My family and I are heading to Walt Disney World in February of 2015, and I'm signing them in. My question is- how do you connect the sign ins to the Magic Bands?

Is there a way to do this or do I need to go to the ticket booths beforehand and ask them and get it all worked out?
