Magic Bands after rebooking

We've had a reservation at the Polynesian for several months and arrive on Thursday. Our Magic Bands arrived a few weeks ago. We decided to add the Dining Plan so they had to cancel and rebook us in order to make that happen. I just got an email today saying that our Magic Bands would be waiting for us at the hotel when we check in. Is it possible to use the Magic Bands they already sent us? We picked our colors for those and I'm assuming the last minute ones are all gray. How do we go about activating the ones we already have instead of the ones waiting at the hotel? Thanks!

The ones you have received should be linked in MDE already, so bring those. When you check in, tell them you don't need the ones they have waiting for you. They are already activated.

You can use them, there is nothing you need to do. It's up to you if you want to go get the new bands (I personally would but I've also skipped in the past as well)

Yes, if the Magic Bands are attached to your MDE account and associated with the correct people, then you can use them. You can use the new set as well if you like. Any older bands associated with your account will still work for any short-range functions, and long-range functions (ie Ride Photos) if the battery is still working.

Just shcek your MDE account to make sure the bands are associated with their intended users (they should be if you bought as a package).

On your MDE page it will show 'active' next to your magic bands. You can have more than one set 'active' so it shouldn't matter. If for some reason they aren't active when you check in, the front desk can do that for you.

One problem I encountered in similar situation: you may not get a text with your room number even if you do online check-in. They seem to think you need to stop at the front desk to pick up your bands, even though you already have a set that will work.

I can set them as inactive but it doesn't appear I can decline them. Interesting thought though - I wonder if the ones at the resort are the new magic bands? The ones shipped to us are the old design. Just curious.
