Magic Bands - 2 families, 1 reservation

Traveling with DS and his family. I made a reservation at BLT for all 6 of us. I linked the hotel reservation to my MDE account and added all of their names as in the friend and family list.

DDIL has an MDE account and I invited her to link which she has done. Now my list of family and friends shows their names that I entered for the hotel reservation and then a separate listing for DDIL's account as well.

As it stands now the hotel reservation is on my list and their tickets are on their list. Will we end up with multiple magic bands?? Also - we live across the country from each other - they need their magic bands mailed to them, and ours to us. As it stands now, it looks like we would receive all of them and maybe they would receive bands with just their tickets on them?

Do I need to call Disney IT?? Thanks

MB's are a key to your MDE account. There is nothing on them.

The bands will be mailed to the primary room reservation holder which I guess is you. DME tags will be mailed to the primary reservation holder. You will need to forward the bands and tags to the correct people.

For magical express, you can make the reservation for others and have the tags, etc. mailed directly to them. I've done that in the past and just set it up for this trip for DS and family.

Maybe a better way to ask the question is: how can DDIL link her account to the hotel reservation?

Good to know, DME has told me in the past that they will only mail to the primary reservation holder because Disney uses the primary's name and room reservation to pay the DME contractor, (Mears).

I am having a similar issue. We are staying with my parents in a 2br. We are going down 2 days earlier and staying at Pop. I linked our account with my parents' account. So now when you look at the f&f list on their account, there are duplicate entries for my husband and kids - 1 set I manage for the 2 night stay, and 1 set my dad manages for the BLT stay. I tried calling DVC but all they could tell me was that it doesn't matter. Not sure I believe them. I want my set of accounts linked to both reservations, but no one can tell me how to do it. I am the only one who successfully shows both reservations under a single profile/account.

We just found it easier to say we were all one big family and lived at the same address. I don't know if that will present problems sometime in the future, but it sure made things easier when we took DS, DDIL, and our two DGDs earlier this month. I just did all the planning for everyone, and the DME documents all got sent to me. Of course, that meant when we got to WDW, no one better p*** me off, because I'm the only one who knew where/when all the FP+s were!

A CM suggested that I mail our customized MB to WL so that my niece would be able to get hers when checking in first. Hopefully this will work well in December. I didn't really want to mail them to her.

This is exactly the way I've done it. However, this only works if the people joining you don't want to have any part of the planning. Luckily for me, our guests all have full trust in my planning!
