Magic Bands 101

We are staying at Shades of Green so our room will not be linked to magic bands. We can buy tickets ahead of time and link to an account and make fastpass reservations. My question is if we purchase the magic bands in the park, will we be able to customize them there with our names? Thank you!

Sorry, that isn't possible because the customized bands are pre-printed with the name on the inside. The Merchandise shops don't have that capability.

You may be able to find a variety of MagicBands. There are 4 different Frozen bands and the Yoda band can be found at Legends of Hollywood in DHS. The Limited Edition bands are $30... but three of the Frozen Bands are open stock.

Yes, Yoda is Limited. Darth sold out by the end of SWW but Yoda has hung around mainly because he is not on shelves, you'll need to ask and he is/was only at Legends very recently. Not sure what the tapstile "says" when Yoda is tapped.

Where is Legends exactly in DHS? I wanted a Darth, but will settle for Yoda if I can still snag him. So they are not out, but kept in reserve if asked huh? That's a little weird.

When linking a debit card to your account through online check in, will everything I purchase using the magic band be taken off my card automatically? Or will it accumulate until I hit a certain amount? And is there is a hold placed on debit cards?

Well, DHS does appear to be pushing everything Frozen at this time!

Legends is on the right-hand side of Sunset - maybe before the classic car? A fellow DISer found Yoda there last week. She asked at three different stores and Legends was the only that had a few and she PM'd me to say Yoda had been found!!

I don't think there's a hold, it accumulates until it hits a certain amount and is charged at that time or at checkout if below the limit. At checkout you'll receive an itemized list.

Would there be any issues with wearing 2 Magic Bands at the same time? I have a split stay reserved for my upcoming trip and we received 2 sets of Magic Bands. My boys want to wear both bands during the whole trip. A band on each wrist.

I attempted to search for this, with no luck.

My question is about customizing the MB and the name portion.

Has anybody tried <3 or any other similar character in addition to their name?

Did it look "normal"? I know this is on the underside and will be very small, but was just thinking i would use the maximum # of characters if I could.

Another thought was to put the year/ possibly month... as it seems we will end up with multiples.

I just looked up if the fitbit and magicband would interfere with each other and the fitbit uses bluetooth and the macigband uses rfid totally different technology. Just an FYI.
