I assume when I purchase our theme park tickets they will be on our Magic Bands whenever they arrive in the mail prior to our trip??:confused3

We have been visiting WDW for the past 39 years but this is all new to us!:scratchin

You actually go onto the My Disney Experience page and link tickets. You will be prompted to enter the number on the back of the ticket. Then you assign the ticket to which ever family member's band you want.

Well, depends on how you purchase them. I got mine online, so I got an email with the confirmation number. You can go to the My Disney Experience Page (just log in to DisneyWorld.com and there is a link at the top right). Go to link tickets and enter either your email confirmation or the number on the back of the ticket.

Same goes for ADR reservations or photopass.

The tickets are not on your bands. The bands read your My Disney Experience profile. Once your park tickets are linked to My Disney Experience the bands will be able to read them, and will do so until the tickets are no longer valid.

If you are purchasing tickets that are not part of a resort package, then you have to link the tickets to MDX yourself. If you buy them at WDW they may be able to link them for you.

Thanks to all. Maybe I am a little clearer now. I am considering ordering tickets online from WDW for a short October trip. So I guess we won't get an actual ticket for those. We will use the confirmation number to link to the Magic Bands. Is that correct?

We are also planning to purchase 10 day tickets at Shades of Green in December so I will have to link the numbers on the tickets to our Magic Bands. Is that right?

All of this assumes that you will be staying at a WDW owned resort in October.

1. Correct.

2. Right.
You can bring back your MagicBands from your October trip and use them
to enter the parks and make same-day FP+ picks at the kiosks during your Shades of Green tri.

We won't be staying at Shades of Green but my husband works for the military so we will be purchasing our 10 day tickets there. We will be staying at the DVC resorts for both trips. Thanks for your help! Maybe we will be able to figure all of this out!
