Magic band/ticket use prior to resort stay

We are planning a split stay, the first part I would like to rent points and then the 2nd would be a package depending on the details. I would like my tickets for the entire trip to be part of the package I will have for the 2nd stay. How far in advance can I use my tickets on my magic bands? The first part of our trip with only be 3-4 nights. The entire trip will be less then 14 days.

I read that its 3 days, but can anyone confirm this has worded with the magic bands? I did a chat with a CM and was told it would not work, but just trying to confirm

1- You can do this up to 3 days before your scheduled resort check-in.

2- Go to any Guest Relations outside any park (or at DTD or TTC)
with your resort reservation info.

3- Your tickets (via the MagicBand) will be activated.

4- You can also upgrade (add days/assets to) your tickets, if you like.
