Magic Band questions

i know this may not be the correct board, but DVCer's know everything

We are going to WDW in Dec. Staying at AKL We have AP's.
And we are bringing some friends with us.

Do you have to use the Magic Band system? Can we just do things the old fashioned way?? Tickets, fp's, etc.

i am not real techno savvy and really do not want to spend the time trying to figure it all out before we arrive.

Okay, so i spent a bit of time reading and it looks like we won't have a choice in using the MagicBands.

Guess I'll have to get with the program!!

So, any helps and tips. I did manage to get our reservation linked on the mydisneyexperience page. And our Candlelight Processional reservation shows up.

Will they send us MagicBands? We are less than 50 days to arrival and i haven't gotten anything from Disney...

i'm so confused!!!

Yes they will. We configured our bands on MDE and received them last week. We're leaving in 3 weeks.

Really, the only difference between Magic Bands and the old way is they you now have a 4 digit code to enter for sales transactions, much like using a debit card. Other than that, it is like wearing your Key to the World on your wrist insead of carrying the card in your wallet.

My only gripe about the system is that you still have to carry your AP, DVC Member card and TiW to apply discounts. They really need to link all of those into the system and communicate that info to the cash registers/dining locations.

We stayed at AKL in September and found the Magic Bands were great. Makes everything very convenient and we had very few glitches with the system. Those glitches that we did experience were resolved within 90 seconds.
