Magic Band Question

From other threads it seems that the Magic Bands from our recent trip to WDW have a good chance of working at Aulani - a question though - I wasn't able to link my Aulani reservation to the Walt Disney World "My Disney Experience" where our Magic Bands are linked. This actually makes some sense - however I wasn't able to find a more 'generic' My Disney Experience' app. I did find and install the Aulani Resort app, and was able to link my reservation in that app, BUT I haven't found a way to link my Magic Bands in the Aulani Resort app.

Any advice from the more experienced?

According to this thread: MagicBands have arrived at Aulani, as long as your MDE account and DisneyAulani.com account use the same email address, your MagicBands listed in MDE should work at Aulani.

How do the magicbands work at Aulani? I have never been but will this year. Should we bring them just in case?

Go to DisneyAulani.com > My Aulani > My Aulani Dashboard

Log in with the same email address you use for MDX. If you see your reservation in there, you're good to go. If you don't, try to link it.

Full disclosure... DisneyAulani.com sucks in general and the Dashboard sucks in particular. You might need to log out, log in, refresh, get stuck, etc.

Since my email is the same as my email in the WDW My Disney Experience I should be good to go. It will be very handy if they work as well as they do at WDW.

Keep in mind that the Aulani cast members have not been trained on this, since there hasn't been an official rollout yet. They might act confused when you try to use the band.

Roger that. I certainly noticed that the DisneyAulani website and Dashboard are somewhat...unstable? The phone app seems to be more reliable fortunately.

Thank you all for your great answers! This is all great information! We'll be there in a week and can't wait to try out our Magic Bands there! If they work, it will be nice to not carry anything around the resort.
