Magic Band Question

Hi all,

My name is Jody and I am brand new here. I haven't been at Disney in about 6 years and am now in the very early stages of planning.

We are going to stay off property and was wondering if you can still get and use magic bands if you aren't staying on disney property.

How do the park tickets work if you aren't a disney resort guest.

You can buy Magic Bands if you want, but they aren't necessary. If you don't have a Magic Band, you just tap your ticket at the tapstyle (instead of a turnstyle) at the park entrance as well as at the rides that you have a FP for.

The difference between off site and onsite is offsite you can make reservations for fastpass plus 30 days ahead of time if you have bought your park tickets. Onsite gets 60 days out. Onsite guests get priority for fastpass plus. Like the previous poster said you don't need magic band to do these ressies.

If you want Magic Bands, you can buy them from Disney Store.com or in the parks. You can link these bands to your My Disney Experience account. Your tickets should be linked to that as well. This would allow you to use the bands to enter the parks and for FP+. You can also just use the plastic card/ticket, as others have said.
