Magic Band question

DH and I will be attending WDW Marathon weekend. I have an annual pass I need to activate once we arrive, and DH will be purchasing the discounted tickets from a RunDisney travel provider (picking them up at the Expo the day we arrive).

We will be staying at one of the All Stars. Since our tickets are not linked to our room reservation, will we need to buy our own Magic Bands if we want to use the for FP+? Or will the All Star front desk give us Magic Bands when we check in if we show them that we both have tickets?

Do you have a My Disney Experience account set up? If you don't, you should set one up, and if you do, link your reservation number for the All Star resort on it. If you follow the prompts, you will be able to see where you can order your Magic Bands. It might not be too late, I just ordered mine for our Marathon stay with our reservation for late next week.
If it's too late, you can get the generic Magic Bands when you check in. You will still need to set up an account to link your tickets. (Not sure how the AP works though.) Last year, I had a problem linking our runDisney discounted tickets though, so if you run into any problems, you can call or maybe the front desk can help you. Bottom line is, as long as you have a Disney resort reservation, you will get the Magic Bands and do not have to purchase them. (Unless you want the pretty designs.) You won't have to purchase MagicBands since you are staying at a WDW resort, even if you were just staying one night and didn't have any tickets whatsoever.

Once you link your resort reservation in My Disney Experience, you should see an order for the MagicBands. But hurry up and customize them because you don't have much time left. If you don't customize them, you'll just get generic ones at check in.

Your AP voucher has a number sequence on it that can be used to link it to MDE. Lots of people do this. Make sure you also link your resort stay, so you have the actual dates on MDE for FP+ booking. As far as DH's RunDisney ticket, you say he is picking up the tickets on WDW property, but has he purchased them ahead of time and given a number sequence to link them to MDE? I would hope this is available, since most WDW guests these days are all about getting their FP+ booked.

All Disney Resort guests get MagicBands. Doesn't matter how little or how much extra amenities you purchased. As others said, get your MDE account set up, link any dining reservations, and link your resort stay, so you can customize your MagicBands (name, color, address confirmation). If you're too late, they will have them available at check-in. Not sure if they're still just the gray ones, I read somewhere that there's other colors, too. (My DD wanted the gray one. )

Thank you so much for all of this information - it was super helpful! I was able to link our hotel and get our Magic Bands ordered just within the deadline. Now I'm working on linking my AP voucher number and DH's ticket number so that we can reserve some FPs.
