Magic band question

Our upcoming trip inNovember - our first two nights will be at AKV then we move to BLTfor five nights. I have 5 day passes from UT that I plan to upgrade to AP's after using them for the first day. So if I get a magic band at AkV and upgrade to AP before checking out will that all transfer to BLT when e move? Two new things for me, we have never done a split stay and we have never had APs so I want to make sure I do it the easiest or smoothest way possible.

If it were me I wouldn't use the magic band until the BLT portion of your stay. Magic Bands aren't required but if you really want to use it, waiting until your 2nd resort reduces the chances of a screw up.

Thanks, I agree. And to think we have frieñds traveling with us. They are looking to me for all advice on Disney. I didn't even mention the magic bands to them.

We are doing something similar at the end of Oct. One night in AKL Jambo, and 3 nights at SSR. Was wondering the same thing, but we will be using the bands the first day since we plan on doing FP+ when we arrive. We might wait to upgrade our tickets to APs on the 3rd or 4thday though.

Please do! I would love to know how it goes for you. I am not sure when we will upgrade our tix, I just know it will be during our trip - since we are going again in march it will be worthwhile to get AP's. I really don't know what to plan for FP anyways. Since it is our friends first trip they want to do anything and everything we recommend.

Wow Disfan sounds like you have the same itinerary as us. Taking DD6 this Oct with good friend and his ds6. Then DW DD6 DD3 are all going in March 2014 so I will upgrade mine and DD6 tickets to APs. Then in March I might upgrade DD3 to AP if I think I can sneek in a trip next sept or oct.
This Is also why I think I will try the TIW for the first time too.

In theory, yes, it should all continue to work when you move to BLT. Since the Magic Bands are still in a test phase there are a lot of glitches to work out so there is no guarantee that everything will go as it should. Personally, I would give it a shot, but that's me. Neither will be any more complicated but you might have to stop buy Guest Services if the band doesn't work properly at BLT.

I was considering that too. But our friends want the ease of the dining plan so I think we will stick with that. Since our daughters can't go in Nov we told our DS13 he could invite a friend. Well his friends younger siblings really wanted to go too so we invited the whole family to stay with us. Also thought it would be our only trip for the UY. Then we realized we really wanted to take our daughters too, so added on 100 points BWV and planned the trip in March. Now we have enough points to go twice a year or once a year at higher point period if needed. When we take our daughters in March we will either decide we love to go at that time of year or if we find it too busy we will plan our next trip for the following january (already hoping we might get to stay at GFV then). They have break then too, if we go then we will plan to upgrade their tix while there in March to APs too!

I will probably wait until we get there to decide. As long as I have my flights reserved, my DVC resorts booked, and my dining reservations made I feel I have done well planning!
