Magic Band question- unable to post in MB forum

Very simple question... the inventory in MDE is sparse...if I purchase through the Disney Store, is it relatively simple to link our bands to our MDE plans/reservations?

Yes extremely user friendly, I bought my mom and step-dads MBs on site at WDW and linked them basically on the sidewalk outside one of the shops on main street

Short answer: Yes, very easy.

Longer, more nuanced answer: There's actually no such thing as linking your band to your plans/reservations. Everything is run through your My Disney Experience profile as the central conduit. So technically you don't link your band to your reservation. You link your band to your profile, and your profile is also linked to your reservations, therefore you can use your band for your reservations. That's why you can use several different magicbands interchangeably on the same trip, or a single magicband over multiple trips.

Yes. There is a code on the back that you type in. Very easy. Just make sure you are link the correct band to the correct person.
