Magic Band Question for a friend staying offsite?

My friend is staying off site and is considering purchasing magic bands separately (I thought I read on kennythepirate.com that magic bands can be purchased for 13 dollars separatley). Once she links her tickets in her MDE and makes ADR's, will those reservations and new FP+ options be automatically on her magic bands? Or are the magic bands technically just for show? And if the magic bands are just for show will her tickets have her FP+ selections and ADR information on them. I have only stayed on-site and I know the FP+ options have changed for off-site guests recently. Any help is appreciated:confused3

The Magic Bands aren't necessary since the tickets are RFID enabled. (In fact, Kenny even says, "the Magic Band would basically just make you look like all the cool people and keep you from pulling your ticket out of your pocket three times per day.") Magic Bands have nothing to do with ADRs - as far as I know you still give your name to the host or hostess so that they can check it against their list.

I don't know about buying Magic bands separately, but the advantage of Magic bands is more how they work if you are staying onsite. If you are onsite then they are your room key, park admission, and more.

If you are offsite, and could even get a magicband, it would not do anything special. The only difference is that she will have a plastic card at the turnstyles and FP checkpoints instead of a wristband. IF she could even link them to her account.

The new changeis that previously, only onsite guests could book fastpass selections before getting to WDW. offsite guests had to use in-park kiosks. onsite guests still have an advantage because they can book FP at 60 days, whereas offsite guests only get to book FP at 30 days.

ADR's are completely separate. She can book those at 180 days no matter what. They are not really related to the wristbands at all.
