Magic Band Options

This is our first trip and I would like to use Magic Bands instead of my phone so I don't have to hassle through it every time we need something (especially with Genie+). However, I see there are only 2 plain color options right now at the $10 pricing. We have 2 adults and 3 children to order for, so I'd like the $10 option. Will there be any new colors released or are those cheaper ones being discontinued? Meaning, I have to shell out another $20 per person for the bands? With 5 of us, it would be best for each to have our own color. Or has anyone used the Key to the World card exclusively? I just feel like the band is so much easier for all of us!

Used the cards exclusively for years before MB without issues. I rarely wear my MB so tend to have to pull it out like the card if not using my magic keeper clip.

You can decorate the MB with stickers or paint to personalize them so even if someone has the same base, it looks different. You can find examples on Pinterest.

The choices come and go... we we ordered there weren't any solid colors, only a sparkle rose gold that was still 15 dollars.... of course the next day after i'd already paid some solid color options showed up according to the people here and a thread I was following.

If there are bands you are interested in at 10-15 it might be worth just buying... or you wait and see if you get lucky, but there are no guarantees what will show up when and lots of solid color options don't seem to be showing up. They are cheaper ordering than getting them in the parks.

I agree with the idea to personalize the solid ones yourself and save the money. You can have names put inside each of them so they don't get too mixed up.

My DIL used her card only on our trip in Sept. My son and I had multiple MBs but she didn't have one and didn't want to buy one. Genie+ wasn't available at the time so it was just a matter of tapping it to get in the park. I'm pretty sure if they went back they wouldn't buy Genie+ so again it is just for getting into the park. If you do buy Genie+ and you all are going to be together, only one person needs to hold on to the cards to tap into the rides, that person can tap all of them that way you don't have to worry about the kids losing theirs if they are little.
