Magic Band Information

Hi everyone! I'm just curious about something. I have several sets of Magic Bands from our last few trips and I was wondering if anyone knows how long our information stays on the bands, or if they can be re-activated for another trip. We would be happy to use the same bands again, but if that's not possible they we just want to be sure there isn't any "info" on them if we throw them away.

No useful information is "on" the bands. They serve as keys to your MDX account that is stored on secure servers. You can use the bands for 2-3 years at least, interchangeably with any other linked to the same MDX account.

Nothing is stored on the actual MagicBand except for a unique id number. The MagicBand is linked to your MDE profile using that unique id number. All MagicBands assigned to an individual can be used interchangeably. MagicBands remain active in your profile until someone goes in and deactivates them.

Follow up question - basically I've never paid attention to this before - we have many sets of Magic Bands - I'd like to take one of them from our next set and give it to a friend who doesn't have any. Is it possible if I deactivate it from my account to give it to her and she can link it to hers? or is that a 'no go'? Just to be clear she wouldn't be using my ticket or anything shady .....

Nope. Bands cannot be reassigned or reactivated.

Question: I live in another state from my sister who has made the reservation, I am assuming she gets the bands correct but if we arrive different times how will I be able to access the room or go to the park until she arrives? Or can they send my magicbands to me separately? thanks for any replies

All MagicBands will be sent to one address that's entered by the person that customizes them. She can have them sent to herself or to your address. Once they are delivered, that person could repackage the other persons band and mail it to them (if desired).

Question : Would we be ok purchasing only 1 for our group of 6? Or do we each need to have them? TIA!

One would work as long as someone is wearing it on each attraction.

Thanks for your quick reply, I will check to see if she wants to send them to me right from the first or will they get to her in time for her to forward them to me. My sister will get there after my daughter an I an we were hoping to go to a park till she arrived. Thanks again

You could also ask for a plastic key to the world card at the front desk when you check in I think that you could use as your room key and ticket if you don't have your magic band yet.

We are doing a split stay and they are sending us two magic bands each. I figured that I'd get them in four different colors so I could er... color coordinate... So you can always have them send you Magic Bands and bring them all with you to have linked.
