Magic Band for MVMCP only ticket?

We are traveling next week to WDW. Our family is there for a week. We have 1 person who will join us for 1 day at MK for the MVMCP. I bought all the event tickets under my account. We already have our magic bands, but for the 1 person meeting us, no magic band was shipped.

Do they need this? is this something they get upon checkin?

1. No. Not at all.
2. If the person is actually staying at a WDW resort, then, yes.
If not, then, no.

But, no MB is needed if the person stops by any ticket booth or Guest Relations (or the WDW resort concierge desk,) shows a legal ID that relates to the MVMCP ticket order, and picks up
a free plastic RFID card to use to enter the park and for FP readers.

Go to a ticket window and ask them to issue a plastic ticket that’s linked to your friend.

Friend uses that to enter the party and FP lines.

If your friend would like a magic band, you can always buy one on shopdisney.com and then link it to their MVMCP ticket.

A plastic ticket will work just fine for park entry, and Fast Pass. Alternately, your friend could purchase a Magic Band if they want to.
