Magic band, etc...questions

I received my first magical package today in advance of my November trip. It has vouchers for mini-golf, luggage tags, and clear plastic bands. Does anyone know what these bands are for?

Also, how far in advance of a trip do you receive Magic Bands? My trip starts 11/6, so it has to be soon.

Aren’t the clear plastic bands for attaching the luggage tags to luggage?

Did you order magic bands? They are no longer included, if you want them before your trip you need to buy them. Alternatively you can buy them at WDW or if you don’t want to purchase you can ask for a plastic key or use your app.

Those clear bands are what you use to secure the tags to your luggage. When did you order your magic bands? They don’t come automatically. You have to order & pay for them. I got my last ones about 10 days after I ordered them.

Oops, I feel foolish, lol.

I never did...10 days is cutting it close, I hope I can get them to rush it

This trip came together so quickly, and I’ve been so crazy busy making hotel, restaurant reservations ...and, just with life, that I dodnt really pay attention to Magic Bands.

On the website. I use the More Links drop down at the bottom of the home page. It tells you how many days you have left to order them. At a certain point, they’re sent to the resort instead of your house.

They’re are 2 different kinds….. magic band & magic band +. They both access your MDE & can be used to unlock your room door, enter parks, link photos & use lightning lanes. The + band has additional features: they light up during fireworks & interact with the 50th anniversary statues. The + bands cost more of course. This thread has more info:

I initially bought one on Shop Disney - the Epcot Food and Wine Mickey and Minnie one - with 2 day shipping. When I went on the site, I saw others I loved, so I bought the navy Partners one. 10 business days will land way too close to my arrival date of 11/6 - Sunday. I wish they’d tell you on the confirmation that the band was going to the room - anyone not on this board or other sites wouldn’t know that

And don’t feel too bad. The MBs from the WDW package give about $10 off, but shopDisney has a bigger selection. Hope you love the one you got!
