Curious if anyone could share a recent experience obtaining the new digital DAS if the group is over the 6 person cut off.

My party will be myself and husband, my mom and dad, my adult sister and my three kids (one who's 2) so technically 7 (magic bands) plus a toddler.

My 7 year old would be the DAS recipient.

Really hoping they will allow us through as one group, and they aren't super strict on this. Fingers crossed!!

I haven't read any firsthand reports of those getting an exception for more than 6 in the past couple weeks. However, Disney has indicated nothing was changing other than the digital (versus paper). So I expect exceptions are still available for larger families.

Enjoy your vacation!

I hope so too! My trip is in September with the whole family of 8. Our las three trips my daughter had a GAC card and we did great. This DAS is really making me nervous. I feel like I'm going to have to argue for what my daughter needs like in her IEP meetings.

I don't know your daughter's needs, but if possible, I would start explaining to her that there will be changes this time in the way she goes on rides. I would also read trip reports from SueM in MN (moderator in this forum), Aladora and aarcher86, as they provide great information on using the DAS with FP+ to minimize downtimes between attractions.

Also, you shouldn't have to argue with Guest Services - just be prepared to explain your daughter's needs (not diagnoses) as they relate to waiting in the actual standby line. With the DAS, you'll still have to wait, but you'll be outside the line, and able to do other things, such as ride a ride with a FP+, have a snack, enjoy attractions with short waits, etc.

Have a great trip!
