Magic Band - charging to room question

Here now, and charged various things to my room yesterday using my magic band. Merch and food Items.

woke up this morning to pending charges on my visa for the mercy and some of the food. Are these just holds? I haven’t even had the chance to get to the front desk to pay it off before it hit the visa. Have plenty of gift cards to use!

When you check-in, they put a $100 hold on your card. If you spend $100, they put another $100 hold on. This is to protect them if you would go over your limit or close the card. i would go and apply your gift cards or just use the cards directly.

If you used mobile order for your food purchases that goes direct to the cc'd on file in your MDE. This is not a "room charge" and is done via the app (not MB) so you would see those right away. Otherwise things like popcorn, water etc. from a stand and tapping your MB will be on your room charges.

Make sure you use the gifts cards before the day you leave. Unless something had changed it won’t work on the day you leave as it goes to the credit company very early

I find it easier and less stressful to just use the GC to pay for food and merch rather than charging to the room and paying it off at the front desk. It's an easy swipe and the receipt shows how much is left on the card.
