Do they charge my credit card linked to my Magic Band every time I use it or do they wait and charge the accumulated Magic Band purchases 1 time at the end of my trip? Thanks in advance.

What you are actually doing is charging it to your room at the resort, which has your CC on file. Generally this is reconciled the night before checkout, but if you are spending a lot they may go ahead and run the charges (I think there are certain thresholds). Hotels usually do a pre-authorization on cards used for stays for an average amount at first.

Ok, thanks. We went on a cruise where we charged things to our cruise pass and then got an itemized bill at the end and 1 single charge was made to our card. I like that system much better than thinking every nickel and dime item will be charged to our credit card at point of sale.

We were there for 7 days. On the night before we checked out I we t to the desk and applied the 4 gift cards we had to our balance that we had accumulated. On the day AFTER we checked out I got an email with the notice they had charged my card for the balance as of midnight after we checked out. The charge was one big bill but the bill was itemized.

Each type of resort has a charging limit, when that limit is reached they will charge the credit card on file and then start over.

Ok, that makes sense. We have some nice dining reservations so I won't be surprised if we do get more than 1 charge then.

I had the same experience. We only stayed for one night over NYE, but the charges on each of our cards (we each had own our CC on our own MB) were charged as one lump sum. The bill though was itemized, though it was ONE bill for both of us. It was confusing at first because we had to sort out who's was what, and that it was charged to the right card, but all was well. In June this year and last week, we still had our charging privileges but for some reason didn't bother to use them. My boyfriend tends to prefer cash for most things so that's how we made most purchases. Beware, room charging privileges can be dangerous when you want justtttt one more Mickey Bar...just oneeee more....! Then if you're like me you end up with 5 in 24 hours hahaha

ETA: I should say we were each charged one lump sum to our respective cards of what we each personally charged, not both charged the same amount (though I'm sure that was implied haha)....for instance say I bought lunch for $25 and a hat for $30, there was only one $55 charge to my card, not $25 and $30. Sorry if I'm being confusing, math is not my generally strong suit haha

This. But watch out if you hit your limit during the day. They don't automatically push the charges through once it reaches the limit. I think they do it at night or you can request the hotel do it manually. This happened to me when I went last summer. Luckily I had another method of payment so I could finish up my shopping before going back to the hotel to figure out what happened.

We stayed deluxe, I had a lump sum show up on my credit card which was listed as having been charged at our resort on checkout day (and although I am ashamed to admit it, it was over $1500 and it was still just showing up as one charge).

Disney hotels do not do preauthorizations. There has never been anything on my card until I have either reached the hotel credit limit or it is after midnight of the last night of our stay. I guess they trust their guest to have enough of a credit line to cover whatever they buy. I would say that if the card was declined that law enforcement would be called at that point.
