Magic band 2.0 vs original?

I just received our magic bands for our upcoming trip. We got the 2.0s, but it's too wide for my wrist! It's very uncomfortable for me. I have an original version from last year. If I use my old one, will it do everything the new one Will? I won't be missing out on any perks or abilities, will I? Thanks!

Version 1 and Version 2 are functionally identical.

Your old ones should work. You can also take the puck out and carry it in your pocket, or get a another accessory when you get ethere.

I took the puck out and put it on a carabiner, easier to just snap it off when using it instead of trying to contort my arm. I also have one in the band and each color of the old ones (what can I say I go a lot and do a lot of split stays) and I really didn't notice any difference on my wrist between the old and new one but I wear a watch all the time so I might be used to it.

It will work exactly the same as long as the battery is not dead and you are not interested in memory maker.

You need a working battery in your magic band in order to automatically link ride photos and videos on the attractions that use long-range read to find your photo - 7DMT is the first one that comes to mind. For the rides that have a tapstile at the end of the ride for claiming your photos - make sure you tap it, I'm not sure if the photos will automatically link with a dead battery.

The batteries in the magic bands eventually die and there is no way to determine (until after the fact) whether it is good or not. The guess is about 2 years.

The long-range technology is also used to find you at your table for delivering Be Our Guest food at breakfast and lunch.
